04.03.13- Nolan and Bale set to return for Justice League movie?

Well rumour has it that our favourite Batman director, Christopher Nolan (who else), will be returning to direct the Justice League movie. It was well known that when The Dark Knight Rises came out, Nolan famously said that would be his last installment of the hugely successful movies about our anti-hero. It looks a little bit like Warner Bros. is going into meltdown. They’ve supposedly scrapped the original script by Will Beall, and with the end of Harry Potter, they’ve run out of franchises to combat Disney, who, from the looks of things, are swallowing up companies left, right and center.

Has this been sparked by Disney buying Lucasfilm? They have well-thought out phases of superhero movies laid out for the next ten years or so, and judging by the last couple of years, are set to make enormous profits. Avengers 2 and Star Wars VII will be out in 2015 (if all goes according to plan), and whilst Nolan’s new Superman movie, Man of Steel starring Henry Cavill looks good, looks aren’t everything.

Nolan might also nab Bale back to play the caped crusader, who famously said: “My understanding is that this [“The Dark Knight Rises’] is the last one. I think it’s appropriate, I think it’s going out at the right time,” said Bale in an interview with Empire Magazine. “But … if Chris [Nolan] came to me with a script and said, ‘You know what? There is another story’ then I would love the challenge of making a fourth one work.”

If the Bale rumours are true, what would happen to Joseph Gordon-Levitt? He has been linked to the project, so would we finally have a Batman and Robin to be proud of? Possibly.

Remember, all this is speculation. But so was JJ Abrams and the new Star Wars trilogy, and look what happened there. So if Nolan and Bale were to be involved? Then bravo Warner Brothers, you’ve got me hooked.
